How long have you been in business?
Bridgewater Group was founded in 1986.
What is your primary product or service?
Using consulting, coaching, or training, we strengthen the way people work together through leadership, management and team development. In addition we have a customer service program that has been successful with small as well as medium companies. A second line of business is helping clients strategize for the right way to develop their people at all levels of the organization. There are many options: classroom, blended learning with e-learning tools, m-learning for snippits on their electronic devices for just in time tips and reminders and so on.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Background: I am a registered nurse, have a BA in behavioral science and an MA in Career Development. I decided to start my consulting business right out of graduate school, having done three internships: Pac Bell (remember them?), City of Walnut Creek and one at a consulting firm - who encouraged me to start my own consulting organization. I love bringing out the best in people at work.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We have a wide range of tools in our toolkit that help people see their strengths as well as areas for professional development. We customize all that we do to meet the needs of each client and customer. Whether consulting, training, or coaching, we insist on action plans with goals and strategies to support people to implement the techniques they have learned for behavior change and results.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have one office and do much of our work at the client site.

We worked internationally (Asia, Middle-East, and Europe for several years but prefer to stay domestic at this time.

It is variable, depending on the client and the nature of the project.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
A few months ago from a manager I worked with several years ago, who needed a lot of help with management and leadership skills called and said: "I just want you to know that I changed jobs (companies) about a year after we worked together. I am part of an 8 manager department now and I am considered the top manager in the group. I credit that to the work we did together at my last company". Another compliment is that 90% of our new work is from referrals or from organizations where we worked several years ago who call for more.
